Euro-Toques is keen to promote and protect Ireland’s culinary heritage and the quality of its food as well as to educate future generations of chefs about the importance of retaining production methods of the highest standard. To this end, membership of Euro-Toques is open to the many high-quality artisan food producers currently working on the island of Ireland.
These enterprises respect the ethos and production methods that have made Irish food so highly respected around the world. They also seek to preserve the best traditions of the food production, farming and fishing industries on this island. These producers can work together with Euro-Toques Ireland chefs to ensure consumers are getting the highest quality food produced in the most sustainable way possible.
Within Euro-Toques, the Food Council is a group of chefs who act on behalf of the association and are tasked to:
- Support and champion small Irish (by Irish we mean all-Ireland) producers that follow the ethos of Euro-Toques – to preserve Irish culinary heritage by supporting traditional cooking methods and promoting producers of local and seasonal artisan products.
- Identify and showcase new ingredients and products.
- Bridge a connection between chefs and producers.
- Be community-based and support a select number of campaigns, in line with the criteria of the association.
- Find producers who fit the criteria to become associate members of Euro-Toques Ireland.
- Organize events that connect chefs and producers such as producers’ visits, community and educational events, including the annual Food Awards.
Euro-toques Ireland aims to support great products, made in Ireland with good Irish ingredients (where possible) and produced with sustainable and ethical methods, respecting skills and traditions.
